My Secret Cult Ambush Experience

For some reason I remembered my first and only direct encounter with university cult members.
I was living with a friend in a private hostel just outside the school gates. On the ground floor of the hostel there was a restaurant- and a salon, if I remember correctly. The restaurant served as a rendezvous for a number of us as well as a nice place to buy some inexpensive food. I had been down there that evening, standing outside the restaurant having a conversation with a friend , one gorgeous boy I had met a few weeks back through another friend, when we just saw some people running a lot of them backwards, towards our direction. I cannot remember who said it or how we knew it but immediately there was a mad dash for an exit, any exit as we realised it was an attack by cult members.

Like a lot of people I ran into the restaurant, straight through to the back. At the back of the restaurant people began jumping over the fence. It was just me and one very fat boy left behind as we both could not jump.I searched frantically around and decided to hide in the hollowed out section of the staircase outside, unfortunately the fat boy followed me. I was so angry at that but I had to ignore it for the time being. As we crouched in our hideout I could hear the boy's loud, belaboured breathing, and I was alarmed and even more upset. Here we where hoping and praying we were safe and this foolish boy was making enough noise to make a roaring lion jealous. We were there for what seemed like a lifetime but may have been only about 15 minutes and everything was silent. The boy then asked me to go and check if the cult guys were gone. I looked at him like 'are you mad or you think I am?'. He told me I did not need to be afraid because they would not harm girls. I think that was the first time I realised he too was in a cult.  I decided to go and check if they had gone but I had no intention of coming back to tell him if the coast was clear, I would just go to my room.  As I crept out, another girl also tip toed out with her shoes in her hand. When she saw me she began shrieking 'is this how this place is? I will ot come here again o'. I was silent as we walked through the kitchen to the main restaurant sitting. Just as we got there we met a scary sight; a boy dressed in dark clothes and a bandana and carrying a rifle stopped us in our tracks. He shouted ' ha!' and banged a table with his fist.  We screamed and ran back the way we came. ( I am sure he had a good time laughing at us.) After a long while, when we heard people stirring we finally came out and I disappeared to my room.

Looking  back now, and even a few weeks afterwards it is so funny. Especially the part about the fat boy -who was so grateful he found my room and brought presents- and the girl who came out almost hysterical..
